We are in a time where technology has helped make a drastic shift in how businesses are ran and how consumers stay “in the know” with the brands they know, love, and trust. As a business owner myself, technology plays a big part in my business because it is an online business. With millions of apps available in various industries, there are 6 go-to apps I must have at my disposal at all times because they help keep my business organization on point. Not to mention, they keep me at a healthy level of insanity. So let’s get to it so you can see which apps help make me better at organizing the various facets of my business.
EVERNOTE
This app takes project organization to a whole new level. No matter how many projects I have going on at once, Evernote helps me keep them all organized. I can take notes, organize them, and even share them with others from anywhere. My notes automatically sync to my Evernote account regardless of whether I’m using the app on my phone or on my laptop. Another advantage is the fact that I can add website links to my notes to help ease the organization of specific notes. It’s very easy to get distracted in such a busy world, especially if you are running a business where organization is at the top of the priority list.
CALENDLY
This is a GAME CHANGER in my appointments and scheduling. All I have to do is load my weekly availability into the app. I have multiple event types setup which each have their own individual link attached to them that I can share with others for scheduling. The purpose is for them to choose a day/time from my calendar for us to meet up either virtually, in-person, or on a phone call. Once a day/time is selected, it is automatically added to my Google calendar. I can setup different rules for each event type if needed. Another great advantage is that all of my calendars are integrated which keeps me from overbooking any appointments. Talk about ease of scheduling!
GOOGLE DRIVE
This online cloud storage makes organizing my files so much easier. I use it for both my personal files and business files. Because the information is stored in the cloud, my information is automatically synced so I can access it from my laptop or from my phone since I have the app on both devices. There is no limit to what type of file I can store whether it be a spreadsheet, a word document, designs, recordings, or even photos. You get up to 15GB of free storage, however if you need more space, they also have paid options available.
GOOGLE CALENDAR
I can’t stress enough, the love that I have for this calendar. Several of my other widely used apps automatically sync with my calendar. I’m also able to sync my google calendar with my other calendars so that I can have all of my calendars in one place. Being a person that has a lot of appointments, both personal and business, it’s easy for me to filter my appointments to the applicable calendar. It also makes it simple for me to keep track of my daily tasks on my to-do list.
GOOGLE DOCS
This app gives me the ability to write, edit, and even share my documents with others. My favorite part about it is that, unlike other document programs, I don’t have to hit “save” when creating docs in Google docs because it automatically saves my data instantly. If I share my document with someone, both of us can review the document on two different devices at the same exact time and even make necessary edits without losing any of our work which takes collaboration to a new level.
HOOTSUITE
If social media is a big part of your life, especially if you’re a business owner, this app helps make social media management hassle free. You can opt for a free account that lets you manage up to 3 social media networks, or you can use one of their paid options if you need to manage more than 3 social networks which can all be managed from your hootsuite dashboard. You have the ability to pre-schedule your posts to various platforms which means the app is doing some of your posting for you. This is helpful because it lets you focus on more important hands-on demands while the app is still working for you behind the scenes.
