One of the biggest things people sometimes feel like they don’t have enough of is time in the day. I’ve even made the joke that I need to clone myself so that I can get more done on a daily basis. The truth of the matter is, if time is managed the right way, you can be much more productive. Only you know what all you have to do from day to day. Lack of time is also a reason that many people may say they can’t start a new business. I’ve heard “I just don’t have the time to add another thing to my plate,” more times than I can even try to remember. So instead of trying to squeeze a ton of non-productive activities in your day, I want to help you with some productivity hacks. These may help you get a handle on your daily routine and may ultimately help you see that you “do” have time to start your business, especially if it’s a part – time business you can work from home.

1. WAKE UP EARLY

They say, the early bird gets the worm. Well, it’s true! I notice a big difference in my productivity and energy when I wake up earlier than 6 AM to get my day started. As soon as I wake up I drink a glass of water to hydrate and I take my Recharge Capsule to give me even more energy, enhance my mood and curb my appetite. This pill is really like my daily magic pill, especially since it contains all natural ingredients. One of the biggest advantages of rising early is because I don’t feel rushed when I’m getting ready for my day. I can take my time and get things done in an order that makes the most sense for my goals for that day.

2. TOP LOAD YOUR DAY

By this I mean do those dreaded tasks that you don’t feel like doing FIRST. Knock them out in the first portion of your day. I promise, you will be glad you did. As Jeff Olson talks about in his book, The Slight Edge, the small tasks that are easy to do, are also easy not to do. It’s about making the choices that will lead you in the right path to your success. It’s those tiny mundane tasks that usually have the biggest impact in the long run even though we may not feel like doing them or we question their significance since they are so small.

3. HAVE A MORNING SELF-CARE ROUTINE

Do you have a morning routine that you follow every day? If not, you should. My morning routine consists of prayer/devotion, meditation, affirmations, daily goal setting, journaling, and reflections. I’m not saying you have to do all the things that I do but what I’m suggesting is that you find a “productive” routine that works for you and don’t deviate from it. You can even time yourself with each activity so you can be aware of how much time it will take you to complete your routine, which will also drive what time you wake up. Remember, the key is to make your morning routine a habit. Your future self will thank you for your consistency in it.

4. CREATE BITE SIZE STEPS FOR YOUR BIG GOALS

All of your goals should be S.M.A.R.T goals which are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Time Based. Save your bigger goals for your monthly focus and then create bite size action items that will ultimately impact your bigger goals. When you create bite size steps you feel less overwhelmed and you’re more likely to achieve the bigger goals.

5. APPS ARE YOUR FRIEND

Some of my favorite apps that I like to incorporate in my morning routine are my Holy Bible for my daily devotion, my 5-Minute Journal, so that I can start my day out with gratitude and reflections, and the Seconds Pro Interval Timer which helps me stay on track with each part of my morning routine because it is timed. This app is meant for circuit training but I put my morning routine activities in it to stay on target for the time I allot. There are so many apps that will help you with productivity and getting things done. Find those that work for you and run with them.
