Have you ever been at work and said to yourself, “There has got to be more to life than this?” The truth is, there is always more available. You just have to be willing to do what it takes to get it. One major nugget I’ve learned in my adult life is that a traditional education could not be my only source of learning. Personal development is a lifelong process that goes well beyond traditional schooling. In this post, I’ve put together a list of mindset books that every employee should read.
All books listed are independently selected. When you buy something through our retail links, we may earn an affiliate commission.
The Parable of the Pipeline by Burke Hedges
There is always more than one way to get something done. You’ve got the way that works and you’ve got the better way. One of the most dangerous things you can do is rely on one source of income. Having a job does not equal security, no matter what society has taught us. The Parable of the Pipeline will teach you how to build pipelines of steady flowing residual income, which is the real way to financial security.
The Top 10 Distinctions Between Entrepreneurs and Employees by Keith Cameron Smith
The Top 10 Distinctions Between Entrepreneurs and Employees will show you how to achieve independence, and will cause a shift in your thinking that will override everything you’ve ever thought about being an employee. Keith Cameron Smith breaks down the fundamental distinctions you’ll need to not only change your mindset but to also change the outcome of your situation. The two distinctions below will give you an idea of how he breaks it down.
Distinction 10:
Entrepreneurs educate themselves more than they entertain themselves. Employees entertain themselves more than they educate themselves.
Distinction 8:
Entrepreneurs are solution finders. Employees are problem solvers.
Think & Grow Rich for Women by Sharon Lechter
You will find this book is a combination of Napoleon Hill’s classic Thirteen Steps to Success with case studies of noteworthy women. Some of these women include Sandra Day O’Connor, Maya Angelou, Katie Couric, Caroline Kennedy, Madonna, Oprah Winfrey, Mary Kay Ash, Condoleezza Rice, and more. Think & Grow Rich for Women will show you how to use your power to create success and significance.
The Top 10 Distinctions Between Millionaires and the Middle Class by Keith Cameron Smith
In this life changing book, Keith Cameron Smith shows you how to think like a millionaire and reap the benefits of a millionaire mindset. This book breaks down the ten key distinctions that show you how to move beyond the middle class and up the economic ladder. Each distinction is equally powerful however two that I want to highlight are below.
Distinction 10
Millionaires think long-term. The middle class thinks short-term.
Distinction 9
Millionaires talk about ideas. The middle class talks about things and other people.
Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway by Susan Jeffers
Is fear something that seems to paralyze you more times than not? It’s one of those things that if not faced, could potentially cause you a lifetime of regret. Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway will give you dynamic techniques for turning fear, indecision, and anger into power, action, and love, as the title suggests. Life is not meant to be feared, it’s meant to be lived. Facing your fears will help you experience life at a completely different level.
Relentless by Tim Grover
This book (and several others on this list) was recommended to me by my Business Mentor. Relentless is easily listed in my Top 5 of favorite books. It is very direct, blunt, and brutally honest, which is what makes it so good. If you’re looking for fluff and the sparing of your feelings, this is not the book for you. Tim Grover breaks down what it takes to be unstoppable in a world where so many settle for just being “good.” Although many basketball athletes are discussed in this book, it is not a basketball book.
Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Eker
Our mindset always feeds the actions that we take. Have you ever wondered why some people seem to get rich easily while others are destined for lives of financial struggle? Secrets of the Millionaire Mind reveals the difference between wanting success and actually achieving it. If you’re ready to change the way you’ve been thinking and have everything you’ve always wanted, this book will show you how to start with that desire in your mind first.
