Do you ever feel like the days go by way too fast? Between work, parenting, spousal duties, and everything else you have going on, you might feel like the sun rises and sets a little too quick. This is especially true when you realize you only got one of the five things done you had set out to do. You started your day on a high note, then you look up and it’s already 3:00 in the afternoon. In these 7 Time Management Hacks for Busy Women to Get More Done, I wanted to share some of the tips that can help you be more productive and make progress.

1. Digital Declutter

This right here is one of my favorite practices. If you’ve never done a digital declutter, it will change the way you work and operate your household. It is proven to help you get more done. A digital declutter is like you doing a physical declutter in your house, but in a digital way with your technology devices and applications.

Examples of a digital declutter can be some of the following:

  • Organizing your emails into folders
  • Deleting old emails
  • Organizing your internet browser with folders and bookmarks
  • Creating a centralized location for all your computer files, then organizing them into folders and subfolders

Not only does a digital declutter help increase your productivity, it’s also a benefit to your mental health and is a form of self care. When you don’t have to spend unnecessary time looking for your files, emails, and documents, you will be able to get more done. You’ll also be able to spend more time with those you love. 2. Create (and use) Boundaries

Doing this is another form of self care. Creating healthy boundaries around how you spend your time and who you spend your time with, will keep you from wasting time. After all, this is time you will never get back so you must always protect your time, no matter what.

3. Pre-Schedule Social Media Posts

Using applications like buffer or hootsuite will save you time when it comes to your social media interaction. This is especially helpful if you’re a business owner or work multiple jobs. Now, if you just get on social media to scroll and see what everybody else is doing, this may not be as helpful for you. If you are someone who values your time, and doesn’t spend it scrolling social media feeds, this will be helpful for you.

You can choose a day of the week that you sit down and plan out your social media posts for the week. You can choose your pictures you want to post and even write your caption ahead of time. Then use buffer or hootsuite to schedule the day and time you want the post to go out. This will free up quite a bit of time in your schedule, especially if you spend a lot of time on social media. This is one of my personal favs especially as it relates to time management hacks for busy women.

4. Say No

No is a complete sentence. If someone is asking you to do something or go somewhere and you don’t want to do it, you have every right to say no, without explanation and unapologetically. Saying no to something that doesn’t serve your greater good is another way to protect those boundaries I talked about earlier.

Once you say no, stick to it. Don’t waver back and forth in your decision. You have to always do what is best for you because you come first. If you’re not taking care of or protecting you first, how can you take care of or protect someone else?

5. Use a Planner

If you don’t take control of your schedule, it will take control of you. Plan out your events, your obligations, your meetings, things for the kids (if you’re a parent), and whatever else you have going on. When you plan out your day and write it down, you will be more likely to complete everything you need to do.

6. Use Reminders

This is helpful in so many ways. If you have an iphone, you can actually tell Siri to set a reminder for you to do a specific task and it’s that simple. It can be something as simple as, “Hey Siri, set reminder for 6:00 pm to take the trash out,” and she’ll set it.

Reminders are always good to keep you on track with your day to day responsibilities. So, when you couple the reminders with using a planner, you eliminate all excuses for not getting things done.

7. Have a Morning Routine

This by far is a must! Having a morning routine will determine the climate of your entire day. This is the perfect way to get your mindset ready to execute on all your responsibilities. Some of the things you can include in your routine include some reading, meditation, reviewing your planner for the day, or exercising.

You can put whatever you want in your morning routine. The goal is for each activity in your routine to be something that will help you get things done, but most importantly, will put you in the right mindset to get things done. Another plus to having a morning routine is that it’s another form of self-care.

If you find yourself always feeling like the days are going by too fast, maybe it’s time for you to bring it all back in, and sit down and layout a winning solution for yourself.
