What was the last book you read? I want to know, so make sure you share it with me in the comments below this post. Reading is something I’ve always loved, even as a child. Books are filled with so much power, knowledge, and many guiding principles. Personal development, continuous improvement, and lifelong education should be a goal for us all. Just because we finished our traditional education in the school system, doesn’t mean we should stop educating ourselves. According to cnbc.com, twenty four percent of American adults haven’t read a book in the past year. I decided to share with you a list of some of my favorite results driven books for professional women.
The One Week Budget
When I first got my hands on this book several years ago, my finances were not where I wanted them to be. I had credit card and student loan debt, and was tired of my finances being in the state they were in. The principles I learned from this book to set my budget up and get my finances on the right track made a significant impact on my life. Years later, and I still use the system that Tiffany “The Budgetnista” Aliché teaches in this book.
If you are ready to get control of your spending, automate your expenses, and get your money on the right track to debt freedom, this book will show you exactly how to do it. That’s why it was so easy for me to include this book on this list of results driven books for professional women. The One Week Budget lists the plan step by step that you need to follow. It also comes with the necessary templates to outline your budget and spending. Stop letting your finances stress you out and order your copy today!
The Top 10 Distinctions Between Entrepreneurs and Employees
This book opened my eyes like never before. I read this book back when I first launched my company. The distinctions shared made me look at life as an employee vs life as an entrepreneur in a very different light. Regardless of whether you’re an entrepreneur and/or an employee, your mindset has to continuously shift between both roles. This is especially true if you own a business while still working a 9-5.
“The traditional school system teaches people how to be employees, not entrepreneurs. It trains and conditions people to think about money and success from a very limited perspective. It does this by telling them what they have to learn and requiring that they obey the rules without question. In the school of experience, entrepreneurs choose what they want to learn about and they can ask any question without fear of being reprimanded or disciplined. We were told that we must go to school to get a good job. Having a good job means being an employee. You cannot learn how to become a successful entrepreneur from the traditional school system.”
Keith Cameron Smith
Knowing what drives you, understanding your strengths and weaknesses, and learning how to connect with others can help you become a successful entrepreneur. Don’t get me wrong, being an employee has been a blessing to me in several ways, however, being an entrepreneur has been a blessing in many ways as well. If you’re ready to challenge your thinking and understand on a deeper level the mindset of an entrepreneur vs an employee, then this book is for you. But be careful, because you will walk away with a different perspective and a positive disruption on how you view being an employee. Are you ready for this type of insight? If so, grab your copy and be prepared for a change.
Think & Grow Rich
This book is in my top 5 list of favorite reads. If you have certain money goals and are ready to develop the right thought habits to see them come to fruition, this book will show you how to do it.
Money isn’t inherently bad or good, it’s how we view it that makes the difference. Millionaires value the options and freedom that having money provides. Think & Grow Rich gives you practical steps you can take now to change your view on what being rich is about and how to pave your own individual road to wealth.
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
This is another book that is easily in my top 5 list of favorite reads.
“The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People embody many of the fundamental principles of human effectiveness. These habits are basic; they are primary. They represent the internalization of correct principles upon which enduring happiness and success are based.”
Stephen Covey
If you are ready to expand your vocabulary, stretch your thinking, and experience a paradigm shift in your habits and mindset, this book will help you with it all.
In closing, if you can’t remember the last book you read, I challenge you to choose one of the books on this list and make it your next read. These results driven books for professional women will invoke a change like never before. Don’t depend on society to teach you and prepare you for real world experiences. Take it upon yourself to self-educate and expand your knowledge on your own. Don’t forget, let me know in the comments the last book you read.
